OSXFullscreenBug
From PyWiki
(Originally posted by Ivucica 05:14, 14 October 2009 (CDT))
Fullscreen events bug involves not being able to move mouse except when holding left mouse button, and not getting keyboard input. It manifests when the app is ran from Finder (packaged in .app) and in fullscreen.
It originates in C++ Ogre code, and manifests in at least 1.6.1 with PythonOgre rev 996. C++ bug info and hack-fix
This article will include a simple resolution for Python, which is somewhat tricky since MacPython does not wrap all necessary functions. Let's start.
lib.py
We'll use lib.py from Pyglet. It performs dynamic loading of a framework. Here's a verbatim copy of lib.py. (Wiki colorizer got confused, but nevermind that, the file is correct.)

Your main Python file
Now you need to replace your main.py (or whatever you call it). Instead of having your old code, for example:
from src import init init.init() init.go()
move it into something like mainfunc() like we did below. Rest of the code basically loads carbon dynamically using lib.py from pyglet, and creates a timer which will trigger (almost) immediately and do its magic as in the C++ solution linked at beginning of this article.
from src import init import platform if platform.system()=='Darwin': from src import lib import ctypes def mainfunc(): init.init() init.go() if platform.system()!='Darwin': mainfunc() else: EventHandlerProcPtr = ctypes.CFUNCTYPE(ctypes.c_int, ctypes.c_int, ctypes.c_void_p, ctypes.c_void_p) EventLoopTimerProc = ctypes.CFUNCTYPE(None, ctypes.c_void_p, ctypes.c_void_p) def _timer_proc(self, timer, in_events=True): carbon.QuitApplicationEventLoop() mainfunc() carbon = lib.load_library('/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework') carbon.NewEventHandlerUPP.restype = ctypes.c_void_p timer=ctypes.c_void_p() timer_event_proc = EventLoopTimerProc(_timer_proc) carbon.InstallEventLoopTimer(carbon.GetCurrentEventLoop(), #event_loop, ctypes.c_double(0.0), #? ctypes.c_double(-1.0), #kEventDurationForever, timer_event_proc, None, ctypes.byref(timer)) carbon.RunApplicationEventLoop();
This should eliminate the fullscreen bug.
